South Africa vs West Indies – 3rd T20I betting preview

The Proteas carry an unassailable 2–0 lead into the third and final T20I against the West Indies, but will look to go perfect as the series concludes at the Wanderers on Friday night.

This three-match series has served as South Africa’s final competitive preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup and has already delivered two emphatic home performances. The final clash doubles as Pink Day, with the Proteas wearing pink to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Second T20I recap

The second T20I in Centurion on Thursday produced another high-scoring contest. West Indies posted a formidable 221/4, built around half-centuries from Brandon King and Shimron Hetmyer, before Sherfane Rutherford added late momentum.

However, the total was not enough. Quinton de Kock produced a series-clinching innings of 115 from 49 balls, sharing a decisive stand with Ryan Rickelton (77*), as South Africa chased the target with 15 balls to spare.

It was the Proteas’ second-highest successful T20I chase, again highlighting Centurion and the Highveld as batting-friendly venues.

Venue preview – The Wanderers, Johannesburg

The Wanderers remains one of South Africa’s fastest-scoring grounds. Recent Betway SA20 matches have consistently cleared 200, and shorter boundaries reward clean hitting. Weather is expected to be clear by evening, though earlier showers remain possible.

The betting

South Africa are priced at 1.35, with West Indies available at 3.25.

Boundary markets are prominent. The total fours line sits at 28.5, while total sixes is set at 18.5. South Africa are clear favourites to hit the most fours (1.50) and marginal favourites for most sixes (1.80).

Verdict

With the series already secured, rotation is possible, but conditions again favour batting depth and power. West Indies’ inability to take wickets remains a concern on this surface.

Lean: South Africa to win, over 18.5 total sixes, South Africa most fours.
