England host India in the fifth and final T20I at Southampton on Saturday with the series won and the hosts in pursuit of a clean sweep against the world champions.
Match context
England have won four consecutive matches after the opening washout. The decisive moment came at Bristol on Thursday, where Brook struck an unbeaten 79 off 35 balls and Salt finished 59 not out as England chased 159 with more than six overs to spare, winning by nine wickets.
That followed England’s record 125-run win at Trent Bridge, India’s heaviest T20 defeat by runs, where India were bowled out for 76. India have now suffered five consecutive T20 defeats stretching back to their shock 2-0 series loss to Ireland in Belfast.
India have struggled to build partnerships throughout the series. Shreyas Iyer has been their standout with 80 not out at Bristol, while Sooryavanshi managed only 13, 14 and 15 across the last three matches. Abhishek Sharma has contributed little and the bowling has been unable to contain England’s top order.
Archer and Tongue have shared wickets consistently, Rashid has provided middle-overs control, and the Salt-Brook partnership has defined the series.

Betting angle
England at 1.75 is fair value as the home side in irresistible form. Abhishek Sharma at 5.30 for top batsman is worth considering given India’s need for a positive response from their number one ranked T20I batter. Arshdeep Singh at 4.05 for top bowler is the standout bowling market given his consistent new-ball threat throughout the series.

The takeaway
England have outplayed India in every department and will be highly motivated to complete a clean sweep. India need to rediscover something in their final outing, but the momentum and conditions firmly favour the hosts at Southampton.
