The midweek Champions League action culminates with more exciting features as we conclude matchday five.
Arsenal host Bayern Munich in arguably the most electric game lined up for the night, with both teams eager to maintain their unbeaten CL start. Plenty of goals can be expected with majority of the big teams playing in front of their home fans, providing exciting betting options for punters.
AfricaPicks has a look at the five top games set for Wednesday night and the best betting guide for them.
Arsenal vs Bayern Munich – 11pm
The Germans remain unbeaten in all competitions this season and are on top of Arsenal only because of a better goal difference. The Gunners have not conceded a CL goal this season but they are against the highest-scoring team in Bayern, after 14 goals in four games.
This is a repeat of last season’s edition where Bayern edged Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate to advance to the semis. Both teams won away in their last UCL games, Bayern beating PSG 2-1, while Arsenal were 3-0 winners at Slavia Prague.
The tactical quality both teams posses can make for a cagey encounter but the home team are tipped with the slight advantage.
Prediction – The best attack at home is a force to reckon with, even to the best defense. Both teams to score @ 1.61 odds
Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan – 11pm
Atleti are out to inflict a first Champions League defeat to Inter on Wednesday at the Metropolitano. Inter are in third place after a 2-1 win against Kairat last time out, while Atletico saw off Royale Union SG 3-1 to make it six points from four games.
Atletico were 1-0 winners at Getafe over the weekend, making it five wins in a row, while Inters only defeat in their last five was a similar loss to Milan on Sunday. Atleti have scored 10 CL goals so far, while Inter have scored 11, giving this the potential to be a high-scoring encounter.
Prediction – Both teams to score @ 1.65 odds
Liverpool vs PSV – 11pm
Arne Slot’s wounded side are looking to make it three consecutive CL wins after a humiliating 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest over the weekend. Alexis Mac Allister was on target as Liverpool edged Real Madrid 1-0 in their last outing, while PSV were held to a 1-1 draw at Olympiakos.
CAF Champions League wrap and betting lessons
Both teams have scored nine goals in their opening four games and they are expected to both find the net here. Dutch powerhouse PSV come into the game on an impressive 11-game unbeaten streak, making this a tricky test for the English side. PSV were also 3-2 winners against Liverpool the last time these two met in the Champions League group stage last January.
Prediction – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.33 odds
Olympiakos vs Real Madrid – 11pm
Seventh place Madrid have nine points and the chance to keep up with the top teams with a win here. Madrid have gone three games without a win for the first time this season, after a 2-2 draw against Elche at the weekend.
Olympiakos on the other hand are unbeaten in their last five matches, but are yet to win a CL game. The last time these sides met in the competition was in 2007 and Madrid were 4-2 winners on aggregate. Madrid are under pressure to bounce back to their regular winning ways after a 2-1 loss to Liverpool in their last UCL outing.
Prediction – Despite their recent dismal run, Madrid are superior than their opponents and have the quality in their squad to bag all three points here. Real Madrid to win @ 1.42 odds

PSG vs Tottenham – 11pm
After defeat to Bayern in matchday four, PSG seek to bounce back against a resurgent Spurs side. PSG are still in the top five with nine points, one more than Tottenham, who are in 10th place.
Tottenham have enjoyed a decent return to the Champions League and are unbeaten in their opening four games. This will indeed be a more tricky test than their previous match against Copenhagen, where Thomas Franks side were 4-0 winners.
Spurs have lost three of their last five games, including a 4-1 demolition at Arsenal this past weekend, while PSG are fresh off back to back wins.
Prediction – PSG to win @ 1.42 odds
Total accumulator odds @ 7.12 odds
