We take a look at value bets in this midweek round of SportPesa League action in Kenya, as Gor Mahia chase top spot, Kenya Police seek a response after continental disappointment, and Shabana face unbeaten AFC Leopards in the week’s headline clash
Gor Mahia eye top spot in midweek clash
SportPesa League action continues midweek as record champions Gor Mahia seek to claim top spot for the first time this season.
The relentless Gor were far superior to their opponents over the weekend, beating league leaders Posta Rangers 3-0. Ben Stanley Omondi, Austin Odhiambo and Felix Oluoch were all on target in a morale-boosting win that moved them into third place with nine points.
They now face Mathare United, who sit fifth and were beaten home and away by Gor last season, losing 6-1 on aggregate. With confidence restored and form improving, the champions will expect to continue their climb up the table.
Pick: Gor Mahia to win.

Kenya Police FC seek response after CAF exit
League champions Kenya Police FC will aim to bounce back from their harsh exit in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Police lost 3-1 away to Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman, exiting 4-1 on aggregate. Last season’s league triumph was the first in the club’s history, and they’ll want to return to winning ways when they travel to Mbaraki Stadium on Wednesday to face Bandari FC.
Bandari have managed just one win this season and sit 10th — level on points with Police despite playing two more matches. Having beaten the Dockers twice last term, Police are favourites once again and are expected to grind out a narrow away victory.
Pick: Kenya Police FC to win.
Shabana face tough test against unbeaten leopards
The pressure continues to mount on Shabana FC, who have suffered back-to-back home defeats to Posta Rangers and, more recently, Mathare United.
Their upcoming clash against AFC Leopards is set to be the standout fixture of the midweek round. A win would lift Shabana into the top two, but it will not come easily against a Leopards side still chasing a first league title in 27 years.
Leopards secured their first win of the campaign at the weekend, edging KCB 2-1 thanks to goals from Boniface Munyendo and Christopher Koloti. With both sides strong going forward, goals are likely in this fixture.
Pick: BTTS – Yes.
