The latest PSL round reshaped both the title race and the chase for the top eight, with Orlando Pirates producing the standout result while Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch and Golden Arrows all collected important wins. Durban City also strengthened their position in the top half with a derby victory over Richards Bay.
TS Galaxy 0-6 Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates delivered the performance of the weekend. Relebohile Mofokeng scored a hat-trick as the Buccaneers dismantled TS Galaxy 6-0 in Mbombela to return to the top of the table. The match changed quickly when Galaxy were reduced to 10 men in the fourth minute, but Pirates were already finding space and never eased off. Tshepang Moremi added another goal, Mlungisi Mbunjana turned into his own net, and Kamogelo Sebelebele also scored against his former club. The result left Pirates one point clear at the summit, while Galaxy dropped to 11th after extending their winless league run to seven matches.

Durban City 1-0 Richards Bay
Durban City bounced back from defeat to Kaizer Chiefs by taking the KwaZulu-Natal derby. Samkelo Maseko struck in the 79th minute after a sharp passing move, finishing beyond Ian Otieno to settle a close contest. City had started well and created the better first-half openings, but Richards Bay remained dangerous from set plays and long-range efforts. The win kept Durban City fifth and restored momentum in their push near the CAF places. Richards Bay, meanwhile, slipped to a third straight league defeat and remained 12th, only five points above the relegation zone.
Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Magesi
Chiefs made it back-to-back league wins and, just as importantly, scored more than once in a match for the first time since November. Wandile Duba opened the scoring in the 32nd minute after direct play down the right, while Mfundo Vilakazi sealed the result late on after a lively contribution from the bench. Glody Lilepo remained central to most of Chiefs’ best moments again, and the win kept Amakhosi firmly in the race for a CAF Confederation Cup place. Magesi stayed bottom and are still without an away league win this season.

Stellenbosch 2-1 Chippa United
Stellenbosch ended a three-match drawing streak by beating Chippa United 2-1 at Athlone. Tshegofatso Mabasa scored both goals in the first half, each from deliveries from the right, as Stellies controlled the match early. Chippa improved after the break and pulled one back through a Sinoxolo Kwayiba penalty, but Stellenbosch held on despite a late red card for substitute Wonderboy Makhubu. The result extended Stellenbosch’s unbeaten league run to eight matches and lifted them into eighth. Chippa’s winless run stretched to four, leaving them 13th and still too close to the relegation playoff places.
Siwelele 1-0 Orbit College
Siwelele returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory over Orbit College. Chibuike Ohizu scored in the 10th minute after a quick counter and that proved enough. The hosts finished with 14 shots to Orbit’s eight and looked the more purposeful side throughout, while Orbit again struggled to create clear openings. Siwelele climbed to 10th after ending a four-match wait for a win, while Orbit remained 15th on 18 points and continue to drift dangerously close to automatic relegation trouble.
Golden Arrows 1-0 Sekhukhune United
Golden Arrows closed the round by reclaiming a top-eight place. Sabelo Sithole’s 82nd-minute strike gave them a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune United after a match in which the hosts had gradually built pressure. Sekhukhune came close to an equaliser late on, but Edward Maova’s save from a deflected Keletso Makgalwa effort preserved the points. Arrows moved above Stellenbosch into eighth, while Sekhukhune’s winless run stretched to five matches across all competitions, leaving them vulnerable in the battle for a top-three finish.
