AFCON 2025 hosts Morocco are looking to book their place in the quarterfinals when they battle it out against Tanzania on Sunday evening.
Morocco finished top of Group A with seven points after an unbeaten group stage campaign, while Tanzania qualified as one of the best third place teams. Two wins against Comoros and Zambia were convincing enough for the hosts, who only dropped points in a dramatic 1-1 draw with Zambia.
Tanzania on the other hand have still never won an AFCON game but still managed to qualify after successive draws against Uganda and Tunisia, dismissing their opening defeat to Nigeria.
This will be the first appearance of the Taifa Stars in the knockout round in 45 years, against their toughest opposition yet in front of their home crowd.
Morocco have the advantage, winning the last seven matches they have played against Tanzania, who will be out to make history if they can upset the hosts here.
The Atlas Lions have scored six goals in their three matches so far, with Tanzania scoring in every match they have played as well, setting this up to be a potentially thrilling encounter.
Our team has a look at all the key details of the match scheduled to be played at the Prince Moullay Abdellah Stadium.
