Gor Mahia were not in action over the weekend but still managed to hold on to their grip at the top of the SportPesa League standings with 16 points.
Kakamega Homeboyz had the perfect opportunity to take charge of the league table but were beaten 2-0 by Mathare United at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.
Eugene Ochieng’s own goal and a Donald Ange header were enough to hand Homeboyz their second defeat of the season and lift the slum boys into 12th on the table.
Elsewhere, AFC Leopards climbed into third place on the log despite sharing the spoils in an entertaining barren draw against Murang’a Seal at the Nyayo Stadium.
The stalemate means Seal are now unbeaten in their last four games, leaving them in 14th place with nine points from their opening nine games.
This was Leopard’s fourth draw of the season and it can be attributed to Seal’s solid back line that stood tall and frustrated their hosts throughout the clash.

Leopards are level on points (13) with fourth place Posta Rangers, who were also held to a 1-1 draw by the resurgent Mara Sugar on Saturday afternoon.
The result means Rangers have not won in their last five games, while Mara are on the rise with their sixth consecutive game without tasting defeat.
A 1-0 loss to Nairobi United earlier in the season remains Mara’s only defeat so far this season and are proving to be the dark horses of the 2025/26 SL season.
Bandari FC climbed out of the relegation zone with an important 2-0 home win against Sofapaka at the Mbaraki Stadium.
Erisat Orute scored a brilliant first half brace to seal all three points for the dockers, in what was only their second win of the season.
In arguably the hottest game of the SL weekend, champions Kenya Police bounced back from last weeks defeat to Gor with a crucial 2-1 away win at Tusker FC.
Eric Zakayo and David Simiyu were on target for the champions before a late Eric Kapaito penalty reduced the deficit, however it was too little too late for Tusker.
This was the brewers first defeat in their last seven games and they remain in seventh place with 12 points, one more than Police who have played three games less.
