SPL top scorers boost win picks for bettors

After Matchday seven in the SportPesa Premier League, six players are tied atop the top scorers list after bagging three goals for their respective teams.

Shabana FC’s barren draw over the weekend made it five games without a win as they seem to be missing their injured top scorer Brian Michira.

Boniface Muchiri continued his fine goal-scoring run for Ulinzi Stars with the equalizing goal to earn his side a point against Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC.

Murang’a Seal’s reliable midfield maestro Joseph Waithira also has three goals after getting on the scoresheet once more in their thrilling 2-1 upset victory against KCB FC.

His two other goals came in a 3-1 defeat to Bandari and more recently a very important goal to earn Seal a point against then league leaders Posta Rangers.

Tusker FC’s resurgence can be attributed to their forward Eric Kapaito, whose three goals have been instrumental in the brewers steady rise up the SPL table.

Kapaito is no stranger to leading the country’s goal scoring charts, having bagged the SportPesa Premier League Golden Boot Award twice before in 2018 and 2021 while playing for Kariobangi Sharks.

If he remains fit, he is tipped to continue his exemplary form in front of goal and will be monumental if the brewers are to add a trophy to their cabinet this season.

Gor Mahia’s Felix Oluoch also has three goals to his name, finding the back of the net against Ulinzi over the weekend, Rangers and a winning goal against KCB.

Oluoch is proving to be a key figure in the Gor attack as he steps comfortably into the shoes vacated by Benson Omala who was the teams top scorer last season.

Mathare United’s Captain Elly Asieche has been crucial for the slum boys, scoring one winning goal and two more to lead the charts for his side.

What this means for bettors:

With these players in top goal-scoring form, it gives them an added advantage as they continue to earn valuable points for their respective teams.

All six players have scored goals at home to help their teams avoid defeat, meaning a home win (1) or home win/draw (X2) provide a good betting option for the particular sides.

In addition, the home team to score one goal provides a great alternative whenever either of these players take to the field.
