All matches slated for last weekend in the NBC Premier League were postponed due to various reasons but the top teams highlight the highly anticipated midweek action.
There is a huge shift expected at the top of the table after this round of fixtures, with the league finally set to take shape.
Young Africans vs Kinondoni – Tuesday 4pm
Yanga, who are currently in fourth place with seven points, host bottom side Kinondoni as they seek to go top of the NBC table.
The hosts come into the game unbeaten whilst their opponents remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a horrid run of four successive defeats.
Yanga beat Kinondoni by a 7-1 aggregate score line last season and are favourites to win this match convincingly.
The bookies have a home win at 1.20 odds.
SPL Weekend wrap – Homeboyz retain top spot
JKT Tanzania vs Simba – Tuesday 4pm
Simba have only played two league matches this season and are currently in seventh place with six points. They travel to face a JKT side who have managed only one win this season, as they occupy fifth place after five matches.
Simba have scored six times and are yet to conceded a goal, with the run tipped to continue against opponents who have not scored a goal against Simba since a shock 1-0 upset in 2020.
An away win at 1.40 is the best bet for the game.
Namungo vs Azam – Wednesday 7pm
Both teams come into this match in the relegation zone, desperate for a result that would see either of them hop into a more respectable position.
However, this will be Azam’s third match of the season, having played out to one victory and a draw prior to this encounter. The last match played between these two sides, resulted in a 1-1 draw, with Namungo desperate to correct their current run of being without a win in their last three games.
Azam are the favourites in this tie, with odds favouring them at 1.60, also both teams scoring provides an exciting option at 1.80.
